Procrastination and Distraction
I have ONE more chapter to go to finish the rough draft of the latest book (which I'm having a heck of a time titling, but will be the second in the series that started with Such Beautiful Deadly Things).
I have said this exact same sentence for three weeks running now. Usually followed with, "I am definitely going to finish it tonight, or tomorrow, or maybe the day after."
And I believe myself.
But then the day after tomorrow comes and I still have one more chapter to finish.
I feel like I've been wrestling with this book the whole way through - it's usually winning - and I can see I'm going to be trying to pin it down right up to the bitter end.
I do stop in to my local thrift stores now and then for a little inspiration - and procrastination. In case you need a little distraction too, I thought I'd share.
Poor clown. I tried to do my own eyebrows once too.
I was startled at the size of this bull's...ah...horns.
I wonder what the bread is saying to her?
I have to say it doesn't appeal to me to drink my beer out of a small lederhosened-man.
Although you can fit a whole six-pack in this one. "But I only had one beer, honey."
I do like to keep my sex appeal safe up on the shelf in a jar. You never now when you'll need it.
This is how I stare at my computer screen for a half-hour before I finally give up.
Then I stretch out and think, I'll try again tomorrow to finish that last damn chapter.
Much
I just clicked on your link on the bloggess and have to say I love it here! I don't read a lot of mysteries because I don't like murder, but I do like the thrilling questions and clues and whodunnit parts. I see this is an old post but I really liked the clown. He died during a mysterious eyebrow accident...
ReplyDeleteThanks for the smiles today and good luck with your book. I'm a poet so kinda sorta get it.
Thank you so much! I'm glad I gave you a smile, that's what I'm aiming for :-)
ReplyDeleteYou may like Such Beautiful Deadly Things, although a mystery, very low key on the murder part, more about the puzzle and the characters (a cozy mystery).
